I chanced upon Estelle playing quietly by herself this afternoon. She was soooo cute, mumbling to herself, giving life to the Star Wars characters.
The last time Ethan saw these toys, he had ObiWan fighting with Yoda simply because both of themĀ have light sabers. He had a lot of fun, making all sorts of fighting noises. And eventually both of them died due to massive internal injuries. (To a little boy, someone HAS to die after a fighting episode.)
But with Estelle… it’s usually a very different story.
Here is what I saw.

So this is what I thought was happening… a rescue mission! The Jedi Knights rescuing Chewy who’s trapped.
However, upon questioning, Estelle revealed that all 3 characters were actually sleeping. Chewy is under the “blanket” because he is cold and needs to be covered up. The Jedi Knights are napping too. (when her toys are lying on their tummies, it means that they are sleeping…)
So… Shh Mummy!
Estelle woke up this afternoon with a craving for green things…
She wanted her milk in a green cup…
with a green straw…
and with green biscuits! (What?!) Luckily, we did have some green biscuits available in a green packaging. They were Alfalfa and Spirulina Crackers with Yeast Extract. (WHAT?!!) Hahaha surprisingly (or not, you decide) they were eaten with great relish by Little Miss Estelle.
Remember how I mentioned that Estelle loves to hear about Elephants and anything elephant-related? Thanks to Aunty Pris, Estelle has a new favourite book.

One that she demands that I read to her every day. And sometimes, as a bonus, she even gets DaddyO to read it to her in the evenings. She can now complete most of the sentences in the book…
The book is pretty cool and has really cute drawings. But there are a few bits which are not clear enough. For example, when the mouse is shouting, only the words are in bold, the drawing is not expressive enough and does not depict shouting.
And it’s hard for the child to understand that the elephant might step on the mouse. Estelle doesn’t even understand how her crazy jumping on the bed might hurt Amelie who’s lying there. The understanding of “might” will probably develop later, but not at 2.
Anyway, Estelle likes to imitate the elephant clomping around, and that’s pretty cute. (so long it’s NOT on the bed).
Her collection of elephant soft toys is growing… she recently declared one of Amelie’s soft toys to be hers simply because it’s an elephant. Ah well… I thought they’d be stealing each others’ toys much later.
Estelle was in one of her lovely “I love you” moods today. She’ll envelope you in one of her monstrous, rugby front-row style kind of hugs and declare that she loves you. It’s one of those things that makes having kids all worthwhile. Honestly. That is… until you’re recovering from multiple fractures in a hospital a few years later. Hahaha.
Anyway, here’s Estelle giving Amelie a tender head rub and saying “I love Amelie”…

Question: What are these 2 girls up to?

Answer: Abusing DaddyO

Hahaha.
Here’s Estelle teaching Amelie how to ride a “horse”.
I’m sure it’s a pretty comfortable ride for all involved. Ahem. Gotta ask the “horse”.
Psst…
Here’s something one should NOT show Estelle’s grandmothers.
Estelle and DaddyO has this new trick up their sleeves.

Now we have to teach Estelle about head clearance…
The first person to introduce the reading culture to Amelie is… Ta-dah… ESTELLE!
Amelie was starting to fuss this morning and while I was busy getting her bath ready, Estelle stood by her cot and tried to entertain the baby with one of her favourite Pooh Bear books.
She patiently introduced the individual characters to the crying baby while occasionally patting her little sister in an attempt to soothe her.

What a sweetheart.

Estelle is fascinated with all-things-related-to-Elephants at the moment and when SSAY and I saw this paper mache windchime at United Square, we just had to get it.
It is now hanging in Estelle’s room and she absolutely LOVES it.
HAPPY National Day!
Here’s Estelle posing as a supermodel…

complete with the disarming smiles, cute nose wrinkles, hair swishing in the wind and the pouting mouth that’s slightly apart look. Hahahaha
Here’s the sexy babe!
