An early birthday treat

Daddy was unable to take leave on Estelle’s birthday, so we decided to bring Estelle on her birthday trip/treat to the zoo a week earlier.

Among the highlights…

We managed to catch the Elephants of Asia show as Estelle’s fascination with Elephants continue… She loves stories about this gentle creature and is in awe of its immense size.

On the way out, we even managed to get up close and personal with a white-faced Saki monkey (I think that’s what it is…)

A trip to the Fair!

Filed under: Life at 2 — shelleychua @ 11:51 pm

After feasting on our super-yummy wholemeal spaghetti, we decided to bring the kids to the UK Fun Fair.

Estelle has been intrigued by the rides, and has been talking about the Ferris Wheel (EuroWheel) for a while. And she has read about fairs, ferris wheel, merry-go-rounds in her Maisy book. Needless to say, she was thrilled to bits when we told her where we were heading!

Here she is trembling with anticipation.

See that wide-eyed eager look? Hahaha. This was taken when we first hopped into the cabin-car.

20 bucks for the entire family’s evening entertainment. Hmm…

I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of Ferris Wheels. The last one I was on was SO SLOW, I was dying to get off. This Euro Wheel on the other hand was pretty quick. And for 20 bucks, I think we had 10 rounds worth.

These two were happily looking around, taking in all the sights…

While sitting next to me…

was a little girl looking pretty green… wanting to get off, saying that she’s getting dizzy… Poor dear! I guess we wouldn’t be joining the throngs of people queuing up for the Singapore Flyer when it’s completed!

Estelle Shrinks!

Filed under: Books — shelleychua @ 2:34 pm

We’ve been enjoying the book George Shrinks by William Joyce and having great fun imagining what things would be like if we were small. So far, we’ve been using our fingers as miniatures of ourselves as we go on our adventures around Estelle’s playroom.

When I was at the shops the other day, I noticed some iron-on transfers! So… this morning, I got my act together and made Estelle…. a mini Estelle!

She’s been walking around with the doll and talking in a high-pitched baby voice. It’s hilarious. (hmm… why does small naturally translate into something with a high-pitched voice?) Hahaha.

So far, Little Estelle has been hanging out with the Little Einsteins.

(The brown box is the Rocket ok!?!! Just gotta paint it some day…)

The gang has been camping on Estelle’s bed, under the duvet, and Little Estelle got to slide on the bolster. When it was time for lunch, Little Estelle was tucked into Junie-June’s dress because “June will protect Little Estelle”. I wonder what other adventures little Estelle will get into.

PS I didn’t realise the book has sparked off a TV series and it’s own website! But I don’t think it’s so much fun to be 3 inches tall all the time…

Oh dear…

Look, someone has been rolling around in bed, sniffling and feeling sorry for herself…

The poor girl got bitten!

Her jaw area is now bruised and swollen. Poor dear.

Could it be…

You guessed it!

The guilty one had to be “punished” for leaving distinct teeth marks and causing 2 bruises. I guess she really clamped down on her sister’s jaw. Dangerous Baby!

An adventure…

Filed under: Life at 2 — shelleychua @ 10:56 pm

We went off on an adventure this afternoon… all the way to ulu Jurong West (heh heh) to visit SSAY.

First we took a bus to the MRT station.

Then we took the MRT all the way to Jurong East, and caught another train to Boon Lay. (via exciting places like Yew Tee, CCK, Bt Gombak…)

Then we caught another bus to near where SSAY is… and we walked.
Entire journey? 1 hour 10 min.
